I'm Austin Strickland — a retired Navy Corpsman and Apollo Beach local. My path to yoga and breathwork didn't start in a studio. It started underwater.
I got into breathwork to become a better spearfisherman — calm under pressure, deeper dives, longer holds. What I didn't expect was what it did for the rest of my life. Managing chronic pain and MSK injuries. Processing the mental weight that comes with military service. Finding stillness in a life that had always been in motion.
When I asked the VA to refer me to yoga — for stress and musculoskeletal pain — their Whole Health team had no yoga, breathwork, or really anything beyond general coaching and nutritional support. That gap is real. Yoga is one of the most evidence-backed tools we have for veteran stress, chronic pain, and mental health. And for a community that's always willing to spend on everything except themselves, cost and access keep too many vets from ever getting there. So I decided to build the thing that didn't exist.
The Reset is free for all veterans, first responders, and their spouses. No paperwork — just show up. For everyone else it's donation-based, and those donations directly fund veteran access and our goal of bringing free yoga to more communities across the region.
I want to be straight with you — I'm not a seasoned yogi. I took a course, felt what it did for me, and out of pure frustration with a system that had nothing to offer, I decided to just start. That's not a weakness — that's the whole point.
Show up. See for yourself.
Controlled breathing techniques that regulate your nervous system, reduce stress, and increase oxygen efficiency. Used by freedivers, military, and athletes — now brought to the beach.
Movement designed to release tension, unlock tight muscles, and restore blood flow. No chanting, no mysticism — just functional movement that your body will thank you for.
We meet at 6:30 PM intentionally. It's easier to leave the day behind. The temperature drops. And watching the sun go down over Tampa Bay naturally slows your nervous system — it does the work before we even begin. Bring a mat if you have one. Grass works too.
Show up, drop your stuff, find a spot. No rush, no roll call. Take a minute to decompress from the day before we begin.
15–20 minutes of guided breathing techniques — box breathing, diaphragmatic work, controlled retention. This isn't hype. It regulates your nervous system and it works fast.
25–30 minutes of functional movement designed to release what's tight and wake up what's dormant. All levels welcome — modifications always available, nothing is mandatory.
We close with a short cool down and a moment of stillness. The sun sets over Tampa Bay. That part takes care of itself.
No agenda. Stick around, talk, connect — or head out. Either is good. Community builds over time and this is where it starts.
If you've served — in any branch, in any capacity — The Reset is yours. No cost, no catch. Bring your spouse too. Veterans, active duty, first responders, and 911 dispatchers all qualify. Yoga and breathwork are among the strongest tools available for PTSD, chronic pain, operational stress, and nervous system regulation. You shouldn't have to pay to access them.
Any military veteran — active duty, reserve, or retired — first responders, and 911 dispatchers, plus their spouses. No documentation required. We trust you.
Breathwork for stress and nervous system regulation. Functional movement for MSK pain and mobility. The VA is working hard — we're here to fill a gap they haven't been able to close yet, and we're open to partnering with them when the time comes.
Just show up. Tell Austin you served. That's it. No forms, no waitlist. The mat is ready.
If any of these land, you're in the right place.
Come for the movement. Stay for the people.
Yoga and breathwork at Apollo Beach Preserve every Tuesday and Thursday at sunset. Free for veterans, first responders, and their spouses. Donation-based for everyone else.
Community donations go directly toward keeping The Reset free for vets and their spouses — and eventually sponsoring free sessions with other instructors across the region.
Partnering with volunteer instructors and eventually sponsoring regular classes at a flat fee — so more veterans across the Tampa Bay region can access free yoga and breathwork.
Yes, completely. If you've served in any branch of the US military, The Reset is free for you and your spouse. No documentation, no questions. Just show up. This is a core part of why The Reset exists.
It means you contribute what feels right for the value you receive. There's no charge to show up, but this practice costs real money to sustain — equipment, permits, programming. If it moves you, support it. Venmo link is on this page.
Zero experience required. This is built for people who have never stepped on a mat as much as it is for people who have. Every movement has an easier version. You do what your body allows.
A yoga mat if you have one — the grass works fine if you don't. Water. Comfortable clothes you can move in. That's it. Show up as you are.
If a session is cancelled due to weather, you'll get an email notification — join the list below. If you haven't heard anything, we're on. Lightning or severe weather is the only reason we cancel.
We meet at the Apollo Beach Preserve, 6760 Surfside Blvd, Apollo Beach FL 33572. Look for the group on the grass near the water at 6:30 PM — you'll find us.
Yes. The Reset is designed for adults of all experience levels and fitness backgrounds — beginners welcome. Sessions are kept approachable and are not high-intensity. Please note: The Reset is an adult practice and is not designed for children.
Get updates on sessions and events. We're building something real here — a group of adults who show up, breathe, move, and take their wellbeing seriously.
Every dollar donated goes toward two things: sponsoring free access for veterans, first responders, and their spouses — and furthering Austin's breathwork and yoga education so that knowledge gets reinvested directly back into this community. Give what feels right.
